Superman turns in his red cape

(FYI — I plagiarized the title of this blog from scout.com — I know it’s wrong, but it just seem so appropriate)

OK, I know I said no more posts until Friday, but when a Chiefs icon like Priest Holmes is forced to retire due to injury, you must shout his praises.

I can’t say enough about Priest Holmes, and I won’t bore you with the details since most of the consistent readers here aren’t Chiefs fans. If you want to read more here’s a great article on Scout.com.

Let me just say that Priest embodied all that is good in sports. Determination, drive and year-round effort…all without tooting his own horn. He was a complete player…as good a blocker, pass catcher and student of the game as he was a running back. Everyone underestimated him and he ALWAYS proved them wrong.

Thanks Priest! Enjoy the good life because you deserve it. I look forward to see your name on the Chiefs Ring of Fame.

ADDENDUM — read this article if you want to get a feel for what Priest accomplished in his career. He was a VERY PRODUCTIVE player.
