Highway accident

I love being a volunteer firefighter, and soon, an EMT. I like helping the community using these specialized skills. However, you do run into the occasional tragedy. We had one such call yesterday.

I can’t say much due to confidentiality, but I can repeat the report from KOMU (the local NBC affiliate):

BOONE COUNTY – A roll-over accident on Highway 63 left one man dead Wednesday afternoon.

William Baker, 57, was driving northbound on Highway 63 when his truck drifted into the median. He swerved back and then flipped over. Baker was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck.

Police don’t know why Baker drifted off the highway. He died at the scene.
